Walk-a-thon
Once again, the ladies stepped out in support of St. Agnes Academic High School. On Friday, October 9th Sister Joan cut the tape to begin and the entire student body, some parents and alumnae, started off on the 5th annual walkathon in support of St. Agnes. Their trek was through the streets of College Point with the route very graciously protected by the NYPD. Senior, Megan O’Neill’s dad, Thomas O’Neill, generously supplied delicious, fresh squeezed lemonade for all. Afterward there was great celebration and special prizes were awarded for outstanding participation. Indeed the walk was a productive one – students and faculty raised $40,000 for the school. The money will be used for various extraordinary expenses and for scholarships to deserving students. Many thanks go to the parents who donated much of their time to do the clerical work of processing the funds collected. It does “take a village.” St. Agnes School Spirit was evident everywhere.
